Terral L. Altom is a Senior Consultant for ComputerSite Engineering. He performs site infrastructure audits, custom strategic-level consulting engagements, and assists in Site Uptime By Design® Projects.
Mr. Altom delivers numerous types of data center facility reviews for ComputerSite Engineering, including a comprehensive electrical and mechanical infrastructure assessment (Continuous Availability Review) and a raised-floor diagnostic that focuses on site infrastructure power and cooling systems (Raised-Floor Environmental Audit). Furthermore, Mr. Altom contributes to topology reviews of Concept and Detailed Design documents, assessing against Tier and Sustainability criteria.
Mr. Altom's career in critical facilities spans over 20 years and includes responsibilities such as analyzing requirements, new systems design, redesigning old systems, performing capacity planning, and retrofitting existing equipment.
Prior to joining ComputerSite Engineering, Mr. Altom was a Senior Facilities Mechanical Engineer for EDS, Inc. While there, he performed site assessments worldwide, created and implemented preventive maintenance procedures, and supervised consultants. Further, he planned and administered multi-million dollar budgets while controlling costs and improving performance. Mr. Altom has direct, "operational" experience with facilities of all sizes and uptime requirements. For example, he created and implemented preventive maintenance procedures for the mechanical and electrical systems throughout an $80 million data center facility.
Mr. Altom has supervised design and participated in the development of specifications and solutions for four years at Morrison Knudsen Company and seven years at Tyson Foods, Inc. As a direct result of this experience, his capabilities include equipment selection, installation and troubleshooting.
Mr. Altom is a professional engineer licensed in Oklahoma.
